Editorial Policy

How We Create Content

Sylk Health publishes medical procedure information, cost comparisons, and healthcare guides to help patients make informed decisions. Our content draws from peer-reviewed medical journals, government health agencies, accreditation bodies, and established industry research. We prioritise primary sources — government data (CMS, NIH, WHO), peer-reviewed publications (PMC, The Lancet), and accreditation standards (JCI) — over secondary reporting.

How We Review Content

All medical and health-related content is reviewed by Sylk Health Clinical Advisory, which includes a qualified medical professional holding an MB ChB (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery). Reviews assess factual accuracy, source quality, and appropriate medical context. Provider-authored content is attributed to the authoring provider and reviewed for accuracy before publication.

How We Update Content

Content is updated when provider pricing changes, when new medical research is published, when regulatory requirements change, or when readers report inaccuracies. Every page displays a “Last updated” date reflecting its most recent review. Procedure pricing data is updated by providers directly and reflects their current listed prices.

Source Quality Standards

We classify sources into three tiers. Tier 1 (preferred): government agencies, peer-reviewed journals, and WHO/NIH publications. Tier 2 (acceptable): major consulting firms (McKinsey, Mercer), accreditation bodies (JCI), and established research organisations. Tier 3 (contextual): industry associations and reputable news outlets. We don't cite blogs, affiliate sites, or unsourced claims.
